Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical DRI for foundational platform work, owning architectural decisions that raise the bar for how engineers across 1Password build, ship, and operate software safely and confidently.
• Play an active role in shaping and owning the team's technical roadmap, ensuring platform investments are well-sequenced, strategically grounded, and positioned for long-term impact.
• Mentor developers, helping them grow in their craft, and fostering an environment where robust, scalable solutions are the standard.
• Establish technical guardrails and best practices that ensure platform velocity does not come at the cost of reliability, security, or operational maturity.
• Influence roadmap decisions by grounding strategy in technical constraints and infrastructure opportunity, and stay hands-on in implementation work where architectural depth is required.
