Responsibilities
- Lead the Vehicle Understanding team and own production modules for the Waymo Driver related to vehicle classification, states, and intents.
- Exercise technical leadership by pushing the boundaries of onboard/offboard generalizability using multi-modal foundational models and large-scale 3rd party data.
- Manage a team of approximately 10 senior and junior SWEs across engineering, modeling, and ML infrastructure, fostering team growth and hiring world-class talent.
- Collaborate with Platform/Infra partners to optimize data, training, evaluation, and onboard pipelines for performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Develop execution strategies that balance short-term and long-term priorities, driving process and clarifying roles and responsibilities for cross-organizational alignment.
