Responsibilities

• Identify high-impact gaps in existing benchmark and evaluation literature to design novel benchmarks in and across STEM fields.
• Develop methods for generating high-quality synthetic STEM training data and study post-training performance impacts.
• Study hallucination, uncertainty, calibration, and epistemic failure to improve factual reliability, self-correction, and verification.
• Research AI systems capable of performing extended scientific and technical work, developing workflows for literature search, coding, and simulation.
• Propose and execute ambitious new research programs in areas such as reasoning, model evaluation, and AI-for-science.
