Responsibilities

• Design novel benchmarks in and across STEM fields and on general model functionality to evaluate emerging capabilities.
• Develop methods for generating high-quality synthetic STEM training data and study how data quality affects downstream performance.
• Study model hallucination, uncertainty, calibration, and epistemic failure to improve factual reliability, verification, and self-correction.
• Research AI systems and agents capable of performing long-horizon scientific and technical work involving tool use and iterative reasoning.
• Propose and launch ambitious new research directions in areas like reasoning, model evaluation, and AI-for-science.
