Responsibilities

• Improve Elasticsearch’s components that support concurrent and consistent indexing across multiple machines.
• Maintain the cluster coordination system to keep performance high and ensure safety/liveness as nodes and data move.
• Push the limits on the number of shards, nodes, and petabytes that Elasticsearch can handle.
• Investigate and propose solutions for performance or concurrency issues.
• Support support engineers with complex problems.
