Responsibilities

• Define the architectural foundations of a backend system for U.S. air travel that operates at operational scale, ingesting and resolving disparate data streams into an authoritative view.
• Set and enforce design principles for complexity management, including strict module boundaries, clean abstractions, and robust interfaces.
• Lead a small team of engineers (approx. 3-8) while remaining hands-on, guiding implementation from design through delivery.
• Collaborate closely with product, platform, and domain experts to ensure the system remains comprehensible and extensible.
• Own systems end-to-end, from design through production operation, maintaining a high bar for engineering quality and reliability.
