Advertising & Sponsorships

Companies can reach the HiringTrends audience — engineers actively researching salaries, stacks, and the job market — through three sponsor surfaces. Everything is booked from /advertise.

What's offered

  • Newsletter sponsorships — a slot in the weekly newsletter delivered to verified subscribers.
  • Data-page placements — sponsor a stack, role, or location page so the slot renders on the surfaces engineers visit when researching that topic.
  • Targeted saved-search alert sponsorships — a sponsor slot in our daily saved-search alert emails. Only renders to subscribers whose saved-search filters overlap with the advertiser's targeting (roles, locations, tech, experience). Subscribers never see a sponsorship that doesn't match their stated filters, and we never share their saved searches with advertisers — we run the match.

Media kit & booking

The live media kit and the self-serve booking widget unlock once two thresholds are met: ≥2,000 verified subscribers and ≥4 completed newsletter sends. Below that bar, /advertise still renders a public Founding Sponsor panel — intake is direct rather than self-serve, and pricing is negotiated. Aggregates on the media kit (subscriber count, send history) refresh daily.

Booking flow

When unlocked, you pick a surface, a flight duration, and upload creative. The widget previews how the slot will look in-context, runs oversell + exclusivity checks server-side, and then opens a Stripe one-time checkout. There is no recurring subscription on the sponsor side — every flight is a discrete purchase.

Editorial & targeting policy

Sponsorships are clearly marked. Targeted alert placements only render when the advertiser's targeting genuinely overlaps a subscriber's saved search; we do not broaden targeting to fill inventory. Subscriber-level data stays on our side — advertisers see aggregate impressions and clicks, not individual subscribers.
