Directories & Snapshots
HiringTrends keeps three browsable directories, each a curated index of one entity type:
- /roles — a curated directory of software engineering roles, each with salary anchors, signature skills, and the companies hiring for it.
- /companies — every company actively hiring engineers, searchable and filterable, with open roles, salaries, and tech stacks.
- /stacks — every tracked technology with its demand share and weekly trend, filterable by category.
Who-is-hiring cross-links
The directories intersect with one another. From any entity you can pivot to the entities it hires alongside:
- Roles a company is hiring for, e.g. /companies/[slug]/roles
- Stacks a company hires on, e.g. /companies/[slug]/stacks
- Companies hiring for a stack, e.g. /stacks/[slug]/companies
- Companies hiring for a role, e.g. /roles/[slug]/companies
Monthly snapshot archives
Each directory entity also keeps a snapshot archive — a chronological list of every closed month, with the postings, demand share, and top employers frozen at that month-end. Browse them at /stacks/[slug]/snapshots, /companies/[slug]/snapshots, and the equivalent path for roles. Snapshots let you see how a stack, company, or role looked at a point in time rather than only today.
Terminology
If a term on any of these pages is unfamiliar — demand share, percentile anchors, level bands — the glossary defines every term used across HiringTrends.
