Application Tracker & Negotiation Brief

The market data on HiringTrends is free. These three tools are the Pro layer that acts on a real job search — they close the loop from finding a role to landing the offer. The application tracker and interview prep are included in Pro ($19/mo); the Negotiation Brief is a one-time purchase sold at the offer moment.

Application tracker

The tracker at /applications is a Pro tool. It tracks every role you're pursuing through five stages:

• Saved — a role you want to come back to.
• Applied — you've submitted.
• Interviewing — generate interview prep here.
• Offer — pull a Negotiation Brief here.
• Plus Rejected and Accepted in a collapsible archive.

You can track two kinds of entry: a DB-linkedapplication (added with “Track this” from a job on the board, which auto-fills the role, level, city, and stack) or a freeformone (added manually for a role we haven't crawled — you type the details yourself). When a resume is on file, each tracked role shows its match score, and any tailored materials you generated for the job are linked from the card.

Free subscribers see an upgrade prompt on /applications — the tracker is fully Pro-gated with no free taste.

Interview prep

At the interviewing stage, a Generate interview prepbutton produces likely questions for the role, level, and stack, talking points, and gaps to prepare — using the job and your resume if one is on file. It's a Pro tool capped at 10 per day, mirroring tailored materials. Output is in-app and copy-able.

Negotiation Brief

When an application reaches the offerstage, the Negotiation Brief turns the free market percentiles into a personalized read on your offer. It's a one-time purchase — $79, or $49 for Pro — not a plan tier. You buy it when you need it.

The brief shows:

• Where your offer lands against the market for your role, level, city, and stack.
• A suggested counter-offer range.
• A script you can send.

It works on both DB-linked and freeform offers (for freeform, you enter the offer dimensions manually). Every brief carries a confidence note: with enough comparable roles you get full city + stack percentiles; with fewer, the comparison broadens and is labeled; if the data is too thin even broadened, we refuse before charging (or refund). The brief is guidance, not a guarantee.

Once purchased, a brief is delivered in-app, by email, and as a downloadable PDF. It stays re-openable in two places: attached to the application it came from, and in the standalone /negotiation section. A new offer is a new purchase.
