Resume Match

The /resume page lets you upload your resume, review the attributes our parser extracts, and turn the ones that matter to you into a saved search.

Using resume match elsewhere

On /market, /jobs, /companies, and /stacks the filter panel includes a Use resume match checkbox alongside the existing Remote only and Has equity toggles. It's off by default — checking it tells the page to overlay your parsed resume signals onto the current filter set.

The overlay is additive, not replacing: resume signals only fill dimensions you haven't already set yourself. If you've picked a tech stack, that selection wins; if you've left locations empty, the resume's locations fill in. Anything you explicitly cleared stays cleared.

If you haven't uploaded a resume, the checkbox is greyed out with a tooltip linking back to /resume.

Upload your resume

  1. Go to the /resume page
  2. Upload a PDF or DOCX (max 5 MB) or paste the raw text
  3. Wait a few seconds while our parser extracts roles, tech, locations, experience level, skills, and culture signals

Create a saved search from your attributes

Once your resume is parsed, click any pill to include that attribute in a saved search. When you're happy with the selection, click “Create saved search from selected” — the dialog lets you name the search, choose visibility, and optionally enable Job Alerts so you get an email when a new job matches.

Manage saved searches

All of your saved searches live on /saved-searches. See Saved Searches for the full story on alerts and newsletter delivery.

Your resume also tunes job board ranking

Uploading a resume doesn't just power saved searches — it also improves the order of results on the job board. This is a separate mechanism from the Use resume match checkbox above: it re-orders results automatically without changing which jobs are eligible.

  • With a resume on file and the search bar empty, jobs whose content most closely matches your background rise to the top of the list automatically. Same filters, smarter order.
  • When you type a search term, your query dominates and resume similarity blends in.
  • There's no toggle for this. Uploading a resume enables it; removing your resume reverts to standard ranking.

See Job Board for details on how the two mechanisms differ.

Re-uploading your resume

You can upload a new resume at any time from the /resume page. Existing saved searches are kept — re-uploading just refreshes the attribute pills you can pick from.
